Activities for Schools and Colleges

The Division of Science runs a wide range of activities with, and for, schools and colleges. These include:

  • Activities during Science week
  • Salters Chemistry Days
  • Guest lectures and practicals given at schools and colleges that underpin the AS/ A-level syllabus
  • Research lectures at schools, colleges and at the University
  • Taster days at the University for practicals and lectures
  • Special Open Days for students interested in courses and careers in Biomedical, Medical and Forensic Sciences
  • Working with the Luton Astronomical Society and the telescope at Putteridge Bury
  • Projects with hospitals are available for students who are interested in working in clinical environment

If you are student, teacher or Head of Science in a school or college and wish to take advantage of one or more of the above activities then please contact the Acting Head of Division, Dr Bushra Ahmed by email.

The Division, in collaboration with Aim Higher, is also setting up a Bedfordshire Science Network (BSN) to promote the study of science in the region.
