We offer public open evenings at the Dall, which have been running successfully for many years now, and we actively encourage schools and other groups to bring parties for special observing sessions.

If skies are cloudy, a slide show is always an alternative after a tour of the main
instrument and introduction to its mode of operation.

Currently, we are working on a major new project. This is the construction of a half metre rich field telescope the NGDT or New Generation Dall Telescope.

Stars

Half the money has already been raised for this. It is hoped that it will see first light in another six months.

The Dall already has CCD imaging and visitors can observe objects either through the instrument or on video screen.

The Luton Astronomical Society has a dedicated team of members who put in many hours of their free time to  make the LAS a success. We always welcome new members. For more details please visit:
