Profile

Paul Davies joined the University of Bedfordshire in April 2007, moving from his previous post as Vice Dean of Education in another UK university.

Paul completed his first degree at the University of Manchester, studying modern history. This was followed by postgraduate studies in Teacher Education.

Paul has extensive experience in teacher education. He began his career as a practising teacher in Primary and Secondary schools in England and the USA. This included Head of Department and senior management roles.

Paul became a local authority senior advisor in humanities and multi-culturalism and Chair of Examiners for AQA (Assessment & Qualifications Authority). He subsequently became an Education Consultant and a trained Ofsted Inspector.

Paul teaches on the teacher training Professional Practice programme as well as undertaking quality assurance across the schools partnership.

Research Interests and Publications

Paul is a successful author of Primary schools texts, providing subject knowledge and pedagogical guidance in the teaching of Primary history and geography.

Paul is a member of the University of Bedfordshire research group on Teacher Education and has a particular interest in education change management and the development of partnership in education.
