Alison's career
in higher education since 1989 has involved providing management education to
client organisations, mainly in the public sector.
She has worked collaboratively with a range
of local authorities and NHS organisations in both London and East Anglia to
jointly develop and deliver postgraduate awards in management.
Several long term, mutually beneficial
relationships with public sector clients were developed through this work,
including with Suffolk County Council between 1998 and 2005, where Alison
developed and managed an MSc in Public Services Management.
Her teaching specialisms are organisational
behaviour; public management; reflective practice and work-based
learning.
She is currently completing a
PhD project, titled 'Public sector management and the role of the physical
workplace in organisational change'. The
project is ESRC-funded and undertaken with Nottingham University.
She took up her current role at Bedfordshire in April 2010 and has responsibility for initiating and developing public service management teaching and research.
