Recently she was also subject strand leader for the PGCE (14-19) Applied Business Programme (2005-7) in the Faculty of Education.
Her industry background was in the public sector where she worked for the Counters Business of the Post Office, in both the HR and training departments prior to joining the realms of academia. She also undertook a period of consultancy work with Tilbury Douglas Construction Company and recently with the Bedfordshire Development Agency.
Janice has a BA in Business Studies, an MSc in HRM and
an MA in Education. Janice is a Fellow

In order to ensure effective quality standards in her own area, Janice has undertaken a number of posts as an external examiner for postgraduate and undergraduate HRM programmes and is currently the external examiner for the University of Hertfordshire in Malaysia. She has also served nationally as a team leader for the Oxford and Cambridge Examination Boards.
Janice’s current interests lie in investigating racial and gender diversity in HEIs; exploring the application of HRM and educational interventions on economic and social development in minority ethnic groups in the UK and in developing countries.
Previously she has looked at the impact of the brain drain on developing countries and what they have lost in terms of economic growth and development. Janice is currently co-writing a chapter on identity and diversity for a forthcoming textbook. Her PhD research is focused on performance management in UK HEIs.
