Nahid is a PhD student and Research Assistant in the
Department of Strategy and Human Resource Management. She took up her current
role at the University of Bedfordshire in May 2010. Nahid received an MA
in International HRM from London Metropolitan University in 2009 and an MBA in
Strategic & International Management from University of Dhaka in 2006 and a
BBA (Hons) in Management Studies from University of Dhaka in 2005. She has been
awarded London Met Postgraduate Scholarship in 2008 and Bangladesh Government
Scholarship in 2005 and 1999. Just
before joining the University of Bedfordshire, Nahid served as a Visiting
Lecturer at London School of Commerce & IT. She started her career as a
Lecturer at the Stamford University Bangladesh in February 2006.
Nahid has published a number of articles in several academic journals in Bangladesh, focusing on strategic management, human resource management, and international business. Her current doctoral research is on transplanting HRM practices within European MNCs subsidiaries in Bangladesh, a developing country of Asia, focusing on the transfer mechanisms of HR practices and the influence of the contextual factors on shaping the HRM practices in subsidiaries and the role of the HR and line managers and HR department in enacting corporate HRM policies within Asian subsidiary operations.
Nahid has participated in several conferences and seminars in UK and Bangladesh and currently a member of the British Academy of Management. She has recently authored a developmental paper on ‘Transplanting Western HRM practices within subsidiary Multinational Company operations’ for the British Academy of Management Conference 2011 and currently authoring a chapter on ‘motivation to work’ for a text book on Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Management. Nahid has also presented research posters in the University of Bedfordshire Conference 2010 and 2011. She taught Comparative HRM to the master’s student and worked as a facilitator to the Applied Management Project of MAIHRM students at University of Bedfordshire.
