Phil Davies teaches strategy and general management at
undergraduate and postgraduate level at Bedfordshire Business
School. He is interested
in how to teach strategy to undergraduates in a way that uses real life companies
rather than theories. He is an experienced teacher and has run programmes
throughout Europe and the Middle East for
companies and for postgraduates. Past clients include the MOD, Helsinki School
of Business, Airbus, and various charities.
Phil remains an associate of Cranfield School of Management where he has run change management and leadership programmes. He consults for private and public sector organisations up to Board level. Prior to joining Bedfordshire Phil taught strategic management at Cranfield School of Management and was a senior manager in the NHS. His first career was as an officer in the Intelligence Corps with service in Hong Kong, Germany and Northern Ireland.
Phil’s current research interests are on how strategy happens in practice. He has also published articles on the link between social networks and innovation as well as how business strategy relates to military strategy. He ran a lecture series at Cranfield exploring the link between business thinking and philosophy
