Raisa Arvinen-Muondo

Raisa is a PhD researcher and research assistant within the Department of Strategy and Human Resource Management. She has been at the University of Bedfordshire since October 2009. Raisa completed her MA Hons in Anthropology at the University of Aberdeen in 2003 and obtained her MA in International HRM at London Metropolitan University in 2008. Prior to returning to her studies in 2007, Raisa worked as an Operations Co-ordinator within the oil industry. Raisa's current doctoral research is on the development of Angolan leadership potential within Western multinational organisations, focusing on the impact of experiences associated with international living on how individuals view their career development.

Raisa has presented at and participated in several conferences, academic and practitioner, and co-authored event reports of the annual 'Voice & Value' conferences jointly organised by the London School of Economics, CIPD and London Metropolitan University and recently University of Bedfordshire. Raisa has written for the Recruiter, a HR practitioner magazine and is the lead author of three working and developmental papers presented at British Academy of Management conferences.

Raisa is also a member of the British Academy of Management and SIETAR UK. She has also taught Organisational Behaviour and supervised student dissertations at postgraduate level at University of Bedfordshire and at undergraduate level as she studied and worked at London Metropolitan University. Currently Raisa is also co-editing and co-authoring for a text book on organisational behaviour and human resource management.

Raisa has also been working as an Intercultural Resource Consultant since 2008 delivering seminars to outgoing expatriates and senior managers working for a leading oil company on Angolan history, politics and social and business culture.
