UK/EU Undergraduate Students

Full-time UK/EU Undergraduate Students in 2010/11

If you are a full-time UK/EU student (1.) and plan to start a full-time degree course (2.) then you will not have to pay for your university tuition fees until after you have graduated or left the University and are earning a good salary, as a tuition fee loan will cover the costs.

You will need to make an application through your Local Education Authority to the Student Loans Company (SLC) for the loan. Tuition fees are then paid as a loan, by the Student Loan Company, directly to the University on your behalf.

The new tuition fee system for UK/EU students means that neither you or your parents have to pay the fees up front (3.) – it’s pay as you earn, not pay as you learn!

Although universities can vary the amount they charge in fees, nearly all (including the University of Bedfordshire) will be charging full-time UK/EU students, £3,290 per year for undergraduate honours degrees.

For full-time UK/EU students studying towards a foundation degree at the University, £1,310 will be charged in fees.

Part-time UK/EU Undergraduate Students in 2010/11

If you are a Part-time UK/EU student, then you can either pay your fees up front or set up a payment plan with the University to pay in instalments during your studies. UK/EU students are charged a proportion of the full-time fee, according to how much they are studying. For example, a student taking half the study that a full-time student takes would be charged half of the full-time fee.

Fee schedules for  full-time and part-time  courses (Undergraduate)

(1.) Different arrangements apply to  international students resident in the UK.
(2.) Different fee arrangements apply to some courses such as nursing,
midwifery and social work.
(3.) Students or their families can still choose to pay on entrance.
