UK/EU PG Scholarship 2011

A scholarship of £1,000 is available for all Full-time UK/EU Masters students who pay their fees in full at or before registration*.

UK/EU PG Scholarship 2012

A scholarship of £4,500 is available for all Full-time UK/EU Masters students who pay their fees in full at or before registration *.

Career Development Loan

Masters students are not eligible to receive funding (eg. loans and grants) from the Government but may be able to take out a Career Development Loan (CDL) to help cover the cost of fees and living costs.

To get an application form, you should visit your local Barclays Bank, The Co-operative Bank or the Royal Bank of Scotland. The University's Learning Provider Registration Number is 8229.

Am I Eligible?

To qualify for a Career Development Loan you must be:

  • 18 or over
  • Ordinarily resident in England, Scotland or Wales with an unlimited right to remain in the UK (you will not qualify for a CDL if your right to remain within the UK is subject to restrictions)
  • Unable to pay for the course yourself
  • Intending to work in the European Union (or Iceland, Norway or Liechtenstein) when you have finished your course

You will not be eligible for a CDL if:

  • You have a job and your employer will receive a grant for your learning (unless this is part of Graduate or Registered Teacher Programmes)
  • You are entitled to some other types of financial help, for example, a mandatory grant or a student loan
  • You are in receipt of an NHS non-means tested bursary

Social Work bursary for full-time postgraduate courses

This bursary is available to students ordinarily resident in England, studying on an approved full-time postgraduate course. The bursary consists of a non-income assessed basic grant and income-assessed maintenance grant and allowances for certain living costs.
