Care Leavers Bursary

The Care Leavers Bursary (Frank Buttle Trust Quality Mark)

Terms and Conditions for application

This Bursary is for students who are currently supported by a local authority leaving care service and fulfil the criteria stated in the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000.

How to apply 

Evidence in the form of an original letter showing care leaver status is required from your Local Authority.

Applicants are expected to:

  • apply for the maximum student loans available and provide evidence.
  • be enrolled on a full-time BA/BSc/Bed degree and registered as a student at the University of Bedfordshire, and provide evidence.
  • be under 21 years of age at the start of the course being followed.

No assistance is available to those who have reached the age of 25.

While there are no restrictions on the nationality of applicants they must be normally resident in the UK.

Bursary applications must be received by the closing date. Late applications will not be accepted or considered.

The Bursary is paid in three instalments: December, March and May.

The closing date for application is Friday 1 June 2012
