For many students, coming to university
will be their first taste of independence. We understand that one of the main
worries your son or daughter will have is whether they will settle in and whether
they will meet new people and make new friends.
So to help your son or daughter overcome their initial nerves and apprehension, we not only send out a welcome pack, but the University of Bedfordshire Students’ Union (UBSU) hosts a fun first week, called Freshers’ Week.

Freshers’ Week is an entertaining and exciting start to any students university experience, full of opportunities to meet new people, meet course mates, and get to know their new flat mates.
To help our new students settle in and
feel at home we also have Freshers’ Angels (current students) on hand.
Our Freshers’ Angels show your son or daughter around the area and introduce them to other new students, as well as pick up and take new students home at the end of the night.
There are also many other opportunities
for your son or daughter to meet new people and make friends after Freshers’
Week.

The Students’ Union runs more than 45 cultural, religious, arts and sports based clubs and societies including: football, badminton, creative writing, dance, drama, Islamic society, and many more.
