Luton campus and Bedford campus

University accommodation will give you a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to live and study with students from many different backgrounds – many of whom will become friends for life. At the Luton campus, we have designated halls for postgraduate and mature students, which offer a quieter living and studying environment, and we can offer the option of living in single-sex flats.

  • A large number of rooms are available at both the Bedford and Luton campuses
  • We will help all first year undergraduate students who register with us to find suitable accommodation (in University halls or in the private sector – depending on demand)

New £20m student accommodation at Bedford campus

Liberty Park accommodation at Bedford

£20m has been spent on a new student accommodation block that provides over 500 rooms for students at the Bedford campus. Liberty Park is a purpose-built residence located on-campus, giving students easy access to all campus facilities.

The residence is also within easy reach of all local amenities and transport links. Liberty Park’s close proximity to Bedford town centre allows residents to participate fully in the town's diverse culture and exciting social scene. In addition, the Bedford campus also offers a choice of University halls, which are mixed-sex and non-smoking, and arranged in flats of 10-15 students. There are 168 rooms available in these halls.

£40m investment and redevelopment at Luton campus

The University has undergone a £40m investment in state-of-the-art student accommodation at our Luton campus.

The new accommodation provides 850 brand new en-suite study bedrooms and includes:

  • Modern, self-catered flats with up to five study bedrooms plus a fully fitted kitchen and living area
  • Fully furnished en-suite bedrooms with toilet, shower and washbasin, with separate telephone and high-speed internet data points
  • Fantastic communal areas including a fully equipped gym
Luton campus accommodation

Currently, the Luton campus offers seven self-catered halls of residence - all close to the town centre and a short walk from lectures, bars and clubs.

  • Each fully furnished flat has five or six bedrooms, kitchen/diner, two shower rooms and toilet facilities
  • Bedrooms include a single bed, washbasin, wardrobe, fitted desk and drawers, mirror and storage heater, plus internet access
  • There are also handy on-site laundry facilities

Location

Luton and Bedford are about 20 miles apart, and the journey takes around 20 minutes on the train. Luton train station is a very short walk from the campus and in Bedford, there is a free University shuttle bus that stops at the station en route. There is also a shuttle bus service that runs from the Luton campus to Butterfield and Putteridge Bury - find out more about inter-campus travel.
