Hi, my name is Nagaraj Seshadri from India, I'm 24 years old and I'm doing a Masters in Marketing and Business Management. I've chosen the University of Bedfordshire because it's one of the top universities in the UK for management courses. I feel that the university is very good, I did some research on the internet as well and I have a lot of friends in various parts of the UK and they recommended that I join this university. At the same time I find that Luton is a very calm place and suitable for students as it's very peaceful. The social life over here is also very good, students do get time during the weekend to have fun and there are many good places to see as well.

I find my course very interesting because the lecturers are very helpful and compared to India the courses over here are very interactive with a lot of Powerpoint presentations during classes. We also have a lot of workshops after classes and that really helps us to learn more about the subject and get an in-depth analysis of the subject. The lecturers are very helpful and you can book an appointment for a one to one with you to discuss any problems you may have.

The campus is really amazing, most of the Masters in management are at Putteridge Bury which is a very beautiful campus spread in 10 to 15 acres, very green! The atmosphere there is very pleasant and very calm and is suitable for students to concentrate on their studies.

I felt that the key aspect of my course is that unlike back in India where they give you a text book and just work through the text book asking you to read it and then come back for exams, here it's a lot of self study. They also recommend a lot of books whereas some places just ask you to read about the subject here they give you book recommendations and hand outs which you can make notes on.

I have a subject called Communications and Business which emphasises more on presentations and communications. It's like a gateway for students who are from India who may not have much experience of that communication style. Some colleges and universities in India don't emphasis presentation skills and this subject is really helpful from students who are a bit shy and maybe don't understand how important it is to communicate with people in a business scenario.

After my Masters I'm going to apply to do my PhD at this university, ideally in Marketing and hopefully I'll get a good job after that, probably as a market researcher in a company. I do have plans but only after my PhD when I'll have something materialistic.
