To enhance the international student experience at the University of Bedfordshire, the International Office is running an extensive list of social programmes throughout the summer and the academic year.
Attending the events is also an opportunity to share your experiences, network and make friends with fellow students.
To find out about events that are running on a monthly basis, you can pop into the International Office and pick up a social event booklet, check this page for regular updates or join our group on Facebook, UoB International Student Events
To book a place on an event, please visit the International Office on the first floor of the LRC (Luton campus) or email io-events@beds.ac.uk. To confirm your place, all costs are generally payable in advance. Students should please note that transportation to all events are provided FREE of charge.

"Travelling around Europe has been a dream of mine since my childhood days. I still cannot believe that I finally stood in front of the Eiffel Tower. The International Office made a superb decision to organise this Europe trip for international students. For a reasonable price, we experienced the pleasant sight-seeing of two great cities, Paris and Amsterdam.

"A trip like this suits students that are interested in travelling and learning new cultures, those who appreciate nature, history, art and architecture and also those who are interested in photography. The best part of the trip was the river cruise in Paris and Disneyland. It is embarrassing to think that I became a small child again while in Disneyland! I would really recommend that international students join the social events arranged by the International Office and make the most out of the time they have in the UK."
Syifaa Mansoor, MSc Psychological Approaches to Health and Management

"Working for the social events department, including leading the trips every Saturday, is a really fantastic working experience for me. Under the leadership of the social events manager and working together with other helpers, we successfully organised the European trip to Paris and Amsterdam. From managing and leading the trips, my personal ability and team working have improved a lot. For example, the experience has really enhanced my oral English ability and my communication skills are now much better than before. I have also really developed my management skills. What’s more, I have formed a great network of friends - now, when I am walking around the University, I can see a lot of friends everywhere, which is really good."
