International Office management team

The management team are responsible for strategy and planning and for ensuring the continued internationalisation of the University. They regularly make visits abroad and are responsible for fostering links with institutions all around the world.

Harry Wang

Harry joined the University as Head of Chinese Centre in March 1996, when China started to open up its education market to the world. The Centre at that time demonstrated that the University was innovative and ahead of the most UK universities in terms of internationalisation. He has been present over the last 14-15 years and has played a big part in the development of the University of Bedfordshire.

Steve Stephens

Deputy Director of the International Office and Head of International Marketing

Steve Stephens

Steve is Head of International Marketing with responsibility for strategy and planning. He is also Head of International Student Experience, which means he is responsible for student experience and welfare, working with students to resolve any complaints, and feedback sessions. Steve's role also includes being the Regional Director for India, Bangladesh and Thailand.

"I joined the University as a Senior Lecturer in Marketing and International Business. Prior to that, I was Director of Sales and Marketing in a horticultural and biotechnology company, and before that I was Senior European Business Development Manager for a multinational Japanese trading company.

"In my spare time, I am Chair of Governors of Crawley Green Infant School and used to be a County Councillor for Beds County Council."

Jeremy White

Director of Transnational Education

Jeremy White

Jeremy is responsible for the strategic management of existing TNE partners; development of new business opportunities in overseas locations; development of new TNE partners and overseas provision; institutional relationship management; and also for overseeing institutional processes for managing the student experience in overseas locations. He develops and validates new proposals and develops internal procedures for managing and expanding transnational education.

"Before I joined the University I was researching vertebral osteoporosis at the University of Manchester. I chose to come to Bedfordshire as I felt it represented a new breed of University: constantly trying to improve itself and focusing very much on the quality of the student experience. I wasn't wrong either! The University remains forward-looking, entrepreneurial in nature and has proved to be successful both regionally and internationally."

Nasir Ahmed

Nasir Ahmed

Nasir leads the international marketing and student recruitment team to promote the University overseas in all dimensions including student recruitment, partnership and institutional/collaborative activities, development recruitment strategy and determining and identifying new market opportunities. Nasir also undertakes overseas travel in order to represent the University at promotional events such as exhibition and educational recruitment fairs. His responsibilities also extend to helping and supporting overseas students throughout the year, enabling them to have smooth and great educational experiences while they are at the University.

He also works closely with the International Admissions team to ensure admissions tasks (from course enquiry and application to offer letters and enrolment) are carried out swiftly and as smoothly as possible.

"I joined the University in 2009 as International Marketing Manager before moving into my current role.
