Dependants of students are able to be in the UK as a PSW dependant. It is possible to switch into this category from within the UK. If the dependant is in the UK under the ‘student dependant’ category they can switch into the ‘PSW dependant’ route from within the UK.
Alternatively it is possible for dependants to apply under this category from their home country. Each dependant must submit a separate form. Leave is granted to reflect the same length of time as the main applicant.
For full details on how to apply from home countries please visit the UK Visas website www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en
Dependant can apply at the same time as the main applicant or separately to them.
If a dependant is in the UK the form they will need to complete is called ‘PBS Dependant’ . It is available to be printed from the UK Border Agency website,
www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/applicationforms/pbs/dependants
Applicants are also required to read the policy guidance, which is available via the above link, before making an application. If there is more than 1 dependant then each dependant will need to complete a separate copy of this form.
For applications in the UK:
