A spouse, civil partner or child of the student.
If a dependant is in the UK and needs to extend their stay as dependant of a student the form they will need to complete is called ‘PBS Dependant’. It is available to be printed from the Border Agency website www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/applicationforms/pbs/dependants
Applicants are also required to read the policy guidance, which is available via the above link, before making an application. If a student has more than 1 dependant in the UK, each dependant will need to complete a separate copy of this form.
(For extensions before the start of a new course) As this University is based outside London, there must be £400 available funds per dependant, which is multiplied by the number of months of the course. If the course is more than 9 months long, then available funds will only need to be shown for a maximum of 9 months.
If the student is in the middle of a course, each dependant must have £400 per month for 2 months.
This is in addition to the £600 per month that the student will need to show for their extension.
It is essential that you submit all the required documents with the application form. Failure to do this is likely to lead to the application being refused. Documents must be originals.
