Responsibility of the Visa Holder

There are now very strict conditions which students must satisfy to qualify for visas. As the visa holder, it is your responsibility to check the conditions before you apply for a new visa or an extension to one that you already have. We recommend you check these before requesting a letter from us.

Details about Tier 4 Adult applications and Post Study Work, including useful external links are available from our website. Please read the relevant section if you have not done so already.

How do I request a letter or a CAS reference number?

Requests must be submitted online via this website.

I have some outstanding tuition fees - can I request a letter or CAS reference number?

If you are not up to date with your tuition fee payments it may not be possible for you to receive a letter or a CAS reference number from us. Please discuss your situation with an International Student Advisor urgently.

How long does it take?

Letter and CAS reference number requests can take up to 4 working days to process due to enquires that are often necessary with other departments.
