Our quality of teaching is directly attributed to the high calibre of teaching staff we have here. Our postgraduate courses are underpinned by research and are based on staff expertise. Everything we do is designed to help you get the best academic results possible.
Our academic staff includes international researchers and experts. This level of expertise is shared with students to create a challenging and innovative working environment. In the Government’s Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) 2008 we were commended for our ‘world-leading’ research in several areas.
£180m is currently being invested across all of our campus locations, including £20m on our exciting new Postgraduate and CPD centre which will be ready by 2013 and our £34m Luton Campus Centre which houses all student services under one roof. We have also just invested in our brand new en-suite, on campus accommodation- Fitzroy Court which was recently opened on our Luton campus
We endeavour to ensure all our students feel at home from the moment we meet them at the airport. We offer a number of support services such as out Student Information Desk and our professional and academic development team (PAD) who are there to help you with your studies.
In addition we have a dedicated International office that offer fantastic student support, social events as well as internships and advise on admissions.
The university itself is based within the region of Bedfordshire, which has excellent transport links to the rest of the UK and Europe. Our main campuses are Bedford and Luton, both of which are only a 30-40 minute train ride away from London.
We know that you need more than just academic qualifications to be prepared for employment. That is why have a number of opportunities such as the ISIS scheme that are designed specifically for our international students to develop their skills, enhance their CV and gain real-world experience. As a result 95% of our postgraduate students are in work within six months of graduating. And for many it’s not just a job, but a job they really want.
In July 2011 the University of Bedfordshire was awarded the The Queens Award for enterprise which is given to businesses for outstanding achievement in international trade, innovation and sustainable development.
“I chose to study at Bedfordshire because of the world-class facilities and wide range of courses. The University’s location in a cosmopolitan town like Luton, and its closeness to London was also a great motivation. It’s certainly the place to be and you won’t regret coming here!”
Norman Didam, BSc (Hons) Business Decision Management, from Nigeria
