Why did you choose the University of Bedfordshire?

“I was looking for a university close to London that had reasonable fees and offered a wide range of courses to choose from. I talked with some other Bangladeshi students, who told me great things about the quality and consistent growth of the University, its investment in students and the environment here for international students.”

Why did you choose your course, MSc International Finance and Banking?

“I thought that, in this age of globalisation, International Finance and Banking may be the best choice for me. I valued the opportunity to work with experienced professionals in the UK throughout the course, and feel that for any business graduate, this is the best course to study. The career opportunities after completing this course are huge.”

Did you apply for a bursary or scholarship when you applied to the University?

“I applied for both! I paid my fees in full and in advance, so I got a £1,500 discount, and I was also awarded the Merit Scholarship, to the value of £500. I’d like to thank the University authorities for supporting me with these scholarships!”

What do you like most about living and studying in Bedfordshire?

“There is a world class harmony among people from all over the world.”

What are your future career aspirations and do you think studying at the University will help you achieve these?

“I would like to be an academician and throughout this course I feel I have been part of one of the best faculties in the UK, and had the benefit of learning from the thinking, approaches and knowledge of my professors.”

What do you find most interesting or different about life in the UK?

“When I first arrived at Heathrow and used the London Underground tube, I felt that I was a little slow in comparison to those around me – life in the UK is very busy and goal-orientated and things move at a fast pace. I came to the UK not only to gain a degree but expand my global understanding and, in this regard, I have fallen in love with the UK for its multicultural society and the attitude of tolerance and acceptance. The priority of the country is its citizens and their rights and I wish that people from all over the world who suffer injustice could enjoy the same standard of life offered by the UK Government. Also, before I came to the UK I had never seen snow and I didn’t realise how cold it would be here!”
