The University of Bedfordshire wishes to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Dance (Community Dance) to lead our new MA in Community Dance Leadership programme and develop this area of expertise at postgraduate, undergraduate levels and as a research specialism. The University is a significant provider of Dance, Performing Arts, and Theatre with a fast growing reputation nationally and internationally for innovative programmes and world-leading research.

You will have a postgraduate degree, a research degree and/or an established profile as a professional community dance practitioner with excellent links to industry. You are highly motivated by and skilled in practice-led approaches to dance pedagogy, scholarship and research. You will offer subject expertise in community dance/arts practices in at least one of the following: dance and leadership, dance and social exclusion, dance and difference, dance and politics, community dance policy, dance and social enterprise. You will also offer at least two of the following areas: dance techniques, choreography, interdisciplinary performance, contextual study, community arts leadership, somatics or improvisation. You will contribute to the BA Dance & Professional Practice and Performing Arts undergraduate programmes as well as taught masters dance programmes.

You are highly motivated and passionate about the development of community dance practices as an area of research. You will support and develop Divisional research and enterprise activity, drawing on your previous experience within the Higher Education context.
