CMI Level 5 Award in Leadership & Management

The level 5 qualifications in Management and Leadership are designed for practising middle managers who wish to develop their core skills and practices. These qualifications focus on the personal development of the individual learner’s management capabilities and competences.

The award is aimed at developing skills and knowledge at this level.

The programme covers the following areas:

  • Identifying stakeholders’ needs and developing plans to meet those needs
  • Personal development planning
  • Understanding data/information in meeting stakeholders’ needs
  • Principles and processes in recruiting & selecting staff
  • Supporting teams in achieving objectives
  • Managing performance

Entry requirements

While there are no specific entry requirements for this course it is expected that learners have sufficient capability at the right level to undertake the course.

Who is it for?

It is intended for people who are considering a move into a middle management role or those who are new to such a role.

Attendance and location

Attendance is over five workshops, one workshop per week over a five week period.

The course is delivered at Putteridge Bury Conference Centre, located between Luton and Hitchin.

Following completion

Successful completers of this qualification may wish to progress through the level 5 Diploma and level 7 Diploma.
