We were thrilled to present Reece Wood, owner of Bedford-based working-at-heights specialist Pristine, with the Young Business Person of the
Year Award at the inaugural Conquest Business Awards on 25th March.
As
sponsors of this award category we formed part of the judging panel.
Reece’s entry stood out for his energy, enthusiasm, passion and sheer
hard work since forming the business in his early 20s.
We also
presented Heather Townsend of The Efficiency Coach with a ‘Highly
Commended’ certificate.
Over 90 Bedfordshire businesses attended
the ceremony, which took place at The Bedford Swan Hotel. The event was
opened by Alistair Burt, the Conservative MP for Bedfordshire North
East, who commended the efforts of small businesses in the UK.
Conquest Business Events organizes a wide range of networking and special events to help businesses in Bedfordshire stay ahead of the competition. There are regular breakfast meetings which allow businesses to meet with potential clients and network with other local businesses. There are a variety of events organized as well, such as the recent Meet the Buyer in Bedford, and these Conquest Business Awards.
The awards were held in association with Business to Business and Business MK publications.
A path to success full of energy and ambition from someone who is clearly not afraid of hard work and is keen to develop skills. Willing to take risks with his own money and exploit opportunities as they arise, Reece fulfils all the criteria for this award. He demonstrates perfectly the importance of enterprising young people to our local economy.
Heather comes a very close second, fulfilling the criteria of vision and skill, as well as great energy and ambition. We were particularly impressed with her ability to differentiate her business from others with strong branding and her use of social media. No doubt a future award winner when her revenue achieves her challenging targets and she employs further local sub-contractors and personnel, enhancing her contribution to the local economy.
A very inspiring story of Hayley’s energy, tenacity and vision. She has come a long way in a short time and is mixing in illustrious company. A probable winner in the future when she can show tangible results and possibly employ people from the local area.
Good to see a business growing from modest roots and starting to embed itself with local clients. Erica has had the skill and vision to develop a clear offering to SMEs which will stand the company in good stead in the future and lead to tangible business success.
Adam has shown an innovative approach to business and is establishing himself well in the local economy and community. We look forward to hearing about his successes in the future.
