Re-registration Courses for PRINCE2®

If you’re a qualified PRINCE2® project management practitioner, don’t let your qualification lapse!  Every practitioner needs to re-register every three to five years to stay up-to-speed with the latest developments and best practices.  The good news is that you can do it now with the Knowledge Hub and get fully updated knowledge of the latest revisions to the PRINCE2® qualification and your renewed Practitioner status.

Courses will be available throughout the year at our Putteridge Bury Campus and where possible the Bedford and Milton Keynes campuses too.  For more information, or to book your place on the course, please click here.

Have a good start to the day with our Sustainable Business Breakfast

Come and join us for breakfast at Putteridge Bury from 6.30 am on Wednesday 10th November at an event we’re partnering with London Luton Airport and other sponsors. A great opportunity to meet buyers from Airport companies and network with other local businesses and sponsors, the Sourcing Sustainable Suppliers event also focuses on reducing the carbon emissions of local businesses.

The event will look at improvements to business efficiency, with advice available from Resource Efficiency East, as well as a chance to discuss recent developments in the aviation industry.

We’ll be showcasing some of the work we’ve done with local companies which took advantage of ‘Low carbon’ funding vouchers last year and we’ll have a guest on our stand from the Low Carbon SKTP programme sponsored by EEDA to advise.

To book your place a minimum donation of £15.00 to Keech Hospice Care is required.  To register (last registration 29th October 2010) click here for more.

Top Tips on being a successful online retailer

  1. Back up everything daily. If you lose anything or your computer dies, it impacts business.
  2. Systems need to be able to grow. If you sell one item a day, picking it, packaging and posting it yourself shouldn’t be an issue, but put the mechanisms in place early to scale up your operations should you suddenly start receiving 100 orders a day.
  3. Your website is your shop window. However, don’t make the mistake of just making it look visibly appealing.  It needs to function, so invest in the software that will run it efficiently as well.
  4. Make your website as easy to navigate as possible. Have lots of white space. Look at other websites, especially successful retailers such as Amazon, and make note of what makes them so user friendly.
  5. My golden rule is that visitors should only ever be three clicks away from purchasing your goods. Don’t complicate the sales process. Keep it simple.
