Richard Allen, Learning Technologist

Richard provides support for Mode 2 resource development and delivers training in Blackboard. Richard is responsible for WIMBA live classroom.

Philippa Armitage, Academic Discipline Co-ordinator

Philippa supports the implementation of the University's academic offences procedures. She is responsible for contacting students who have an alleged academic offence reported and she co-ordinates academic conduct panel meetings.

Dr Mark Atlay, Director of Teaching and Learning

Mark oversees the work of the Centre for Learning Excellence. He has responsibility for promoting and supporting effective teaching practices across the University and co-ordinating the development and implementation of the University's Learner Experience. Mark is a member of the Teaching Quality and Standards Committee (TQSC) and Academic Board as well as various other committees and action groups. Mark works closely with faculties, departments and individual academic staff.

Nick Collis, Blended Learning Co-ordinator

Nick is responsible for Blended Learning, computer based assessment and Turnitin. Nick provides help to those interested in developing interactive content to support student's learning.

Kaspars Dzerins, BREO Support Officer

Kaspars is the University's staff user contact for BREO. He provides data analysis on the system as well as CBE technical support.

Mark Gamble, Head of Learning Technology

Mark oversees the Learning and Technology team which is responsible for providing direct support for the use of technology in teaching, learning and assessment. This includes BREO development and implementation, electronic assessment strategy and policy and PebblePad. Mark also provides support for technology to partner institutions.

Jo Hatcher, Centre for Learning Excellence Administrator

Jo provides administrative support to the Centre for Learning Excellence and will also be involved in a number of initiatives. She can point you to the right member of the CLE team to contact and co-ordinates bookings for the C space.

Deena Ingham, Teaching Enhancement Developer

Deena is working on the student academic experience. She supports teaching practices, competences, work experience, work based learning and curriculum employability. Deena works closely with the Student Union. She also delivers the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PgCAP).

Dr Lesley Lawrence, Head of Academic Professional Development

Lesley supports the induction and the development of academic staff, including those new to teaching. She leads the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PgCAP) and is working on a professional development policy for academic staff in the area if Teaching and Learning. Lesley is responsible for identifying and disseminating effective practice and is also involved in research informed teaching and learning.

David Mathew, Learning Technologist

David is responsible for distance learning resource development and implementation which includes distance learning resource development for staff and students. David is the assistant editor of the Journal of Pedagogic Development (JPD).

Dr Peter Norrington, Graduate Outcomes Project Officer

Peter is the Project Manager for the Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR) which is aimed at all undergraduate and postgraduate students with providing a more detailed record of their academic and non academic achievements.

David Pike, Distance Learning Developer

David works on distance learning course development and implementation as well as devising structures, policies and practices in this area. David is also responsible for mobile learning.

Dr Andrea Raiker, Curriculum Enhancement Co-ordinator

Andrea supports staff who are engaged in pedagogic research and evaluation activities by running the University's Journal of Pedagogic Development (JPD) and related writing retreat for staff interested in publishing pedagogic research. Andrea is involved in supporting the implementation of the University's Teacher Fellow scheme and Master's level teaching and course design.

Eve Rapley, Curriculum Enhancement Co-ordinator

Eve is responsible for working with and supporting course teams to implement the University's internationalisation strategy. She is also co-ordinating a pilot Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) scheme. Eve is also part of the team which delivers the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PgCAP) and provides support to partner institutions.

Mitul Shukla, BREO Training Officer

Mitul devises, coordinates and delivers BREO training.

Nigel Upton, Learning Technologist

Nigel provides support for Mode 2 resource development and delivers training on the Blackboard system. He is responsible for Keepad and Turning Point.
