Garry is a Registered Architect and hence a teacher-practitioner in that this work informs his teaching practice. His discursive teaching practice is built around the design tutorial: a discussion between the student and the tutor on the former’s project work-in-progress. He is particularly interested in inter-disciplinary approaches to teaching and learning in art and design.
Sadie has been centrally involved in developing the Junior Research Institute in Performing Arts. Through this work and her teaching practice she is committed to helping students make the connections between their academic activities, theoretical perspectives and professional practice.
Sam is a senior lecturer and course leader in Sport Management. His claim for the BTF was based on his work on the way in which authentic, personalised, transformational learning occurs when both students and staff are meaningfully engaged for the purposes of learning.
