Launch of the Centre for Development of Social Care Practice

12 Oct 2005 15:31:05

This week the University of Luton will host the launch of the Centre for Development of Social Care Practice (CDSCP).

The event will see the launch of a new partnership between the University of Luton and Luton Borough Council, which aims to offer a new approach to teaching social work students.

The partnership will give students the opportunity to gather first hand feedback and to work with the elderly, people with disabilities and children.

Recently trained social workers will be able to use the CDSCP to work on development opportunities in specific areas.

The Centre will work with experienced social workers who will have invaluable input into the course structure, and help shape the curriculum.

The event will be held on Wednesday 12 October 2005, at 6.30pm-8.30pm at the University of Luton, Putteridge Bury Campus.

The guest speaker will be Dame Denise Platt DBE, Chair of the Commission for Social Care Inspection and will be officially opened by Vice Chancellor, Professor Les Ebdon.
