Four young, contemporary artists who have showcased their work in London, New York, Los Angeles and Dusseldorf, will be bringing their acclaimed work to the hat Factory in Luton this week.
Curated by University of Luton lecturer, Dr Jessica Ball, the exhibition explores the concept of using daubs, paint and charcoal to fill the white on a blank canvas.
Kiera Bennett, Reece Jones, Alex Gene Morrison and Isabel Young have previously had their work reviewed in national art journals, and some of their pieces are held by renowned photographer Mario Testino and art patron Charles Saatchi.
Jessica Ball is very excited about their visit to Luton. She said: “The hat Factory gallery continues to attract high-profile artists and now these young acclaimed artists are the latest to bring their work to Luton.
“In particular, the work of Reece Jones has caught the eye of many art critics, so local art fans are in for a real treat. The University is delighted to curate this exhibition.”
The artists are members of the Rockwell Project and Studio in London. The once derelict warehouse incorporates an artists’-run gallery space and studio. Rockwell is famed for hosting experimental events and exhibitions.
The exhibition runs until 4 July and is open daily from 10am – 8pm. For further details, contact Jessica Ball at the University of Luton on 01582 489159.
