Student facilities at the University of Luton were this week described as “amazing”.

That was the conclusion of the High Sheriff of Bedfordshire, Angela Farmbrough, during a visit to the University with her husband Bishop David Farmbrough.

University Vice Chancellor Professor Les Ebdon played host to the visit.

He said: “We were delighted to welcome the High Sheriff to the University and give her a tour, not least of our £5.5m Media Centre.

She was an excellent guest and seemed very impressed with the facilities at Luton, which she described as ‘amazing’.

“Her husband, a former Bishop of Bedford, is also a former Governor of the University and so they had visited a number of years ago but they were impressed by the transformation.

In the intervening years, we have invested some £60m in new facilities and equipment for students.”
