The recent wranglings between Tony Blair and Jacques Chirac may have left many people a little confused about what’s going on in Europe. Now it can all be explained at the University of Luton’s Summer School, where a module on ‘Evolving Europe’ is among the subjects being taught this year.
The University’s fourth Summer School gets under way on 4 July and dozens of people have already signed up to get a taste of various subjects including, digital photography, Spanish, English, accounting, creative writing, and psychology.
Students from around the EU will be arriving to brush up on their English skills before they begin their studies at the University in September. The School is also open to current students and those who would like to get a taste of academic life.
EU Officer, Suzanne Gillard, said: “The School continues to attract people of all ages and nationalities and has proved a great way to meet people from around the world.
“We are looking forward to welcoming a strong EU contingent, some of whom have already arrived, and we also hope that people from Luton and the surrounding areas will join us to experience university life."
On completion, delegates can gain credits towards a qualification. Each module costs £80 per person, for UK and EU nationals.
