Those planning to study at the University of Luton later this year are being invited to an Applicants Open Day on the 22 April, to find out more about studying at the institution as it prepares to merge with De Montfort University’s Bedford campus on 1 August.
Staff are expecting to welcome more than 300 people through the doors of the Park Square campus, which will bring the number of Open Day visitors to the University this year to 1,600.
Head of Student Recruitment, Lalit Joshi, said: “This is an ideal chance for those who are planning to come to Luton in September to have a look around and find out more about Higher Education. We have no doubt that people will have plenty of questions about their chosen course, the social scene and the merger with De Montfort’s Bedford campus.”
Academic staff will be on hand to answer questions about course content, writing essays and how assignments are marked. Student ambassadors will provide guided tours of departments and accommodation, and current students will also be available to talk about their experiences.
The next Open Day for prospective students will be held on Saturday 15 July 2006. The University also runs tours every Tuesday and Thursday for those who are unable to attend on the day.
