The music of Brahms, Mozart and Boccherini will be featured at a special concert in Little Benslow Hills, Ibberson Way, Hitchin, on Sunday 18 June, as the University of Luton’s resident orchestra plays its final concert of the season.

Symphonia Academica will perform the ‘Cool Classics!’ collection – a programme to entertain all classical music lovers. The concert will feature an array of classic melodies including a quintet minuet used in the 1955 film, The Ladykillers.

The orchestra’s Artistic Director Peter Bussereau said: “We hope our audience enjoys this final performance. Our next season will be an exciting range of concerts in our first University of Bedfordshire Series, following the University’s name change on 1 August. This will include concerts ranging from the Luton Music Club to the famous St John’s Smith Square Concert Hall in London.”

The orchestra has performed throughout the UK and Europe and boasts several award- winning musicians amongst its 70 members.

The concert gets underway at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £10 per person (concessions £8). For further details call 01582 882159 or visit www.symphonia-academica.co.uk.
