A contemporary version of Rapunzel is being showcased at University of Bedfordshire’s new Theatre this Christmas.
The critically acclaimed Full House Theatre Company returns to Bedford for the seventh consecutive year with a festive feast for all the family.
The new edgy adaptation of the classic tale sees Rapunzel as a boisterous, strong willed and lively young girl, keen to grow up too fast and tell everyone what she thinks of them. Whilst her free sprit is her greatest asset, it is also her downfall, causing her mother to reject her and leave her in solitude in the infamous tower.
Harriet Hardie, Artistic Director of Full House Theatre Company, said: “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to create another innovative piece of family theatre in Bedford this Christmas.
With the fantastic support of the University this year's show promises to be our biggest and best yet.
“We hope audiences who have enjoyed our work over the last seven years at the Bowen West Theatre will follow us to the new venue, it is a fabulous space and a real asset to the arts scene in the town.
“Rapunzel is the ideal opportunity to introduce children to the magic of the stage and the holiday season really would not be complete without a trip to the theatre.”
The show is packed full of fun and entertainment, with the giddy characters Rapunzel meets along the way including the bouncing bunny rabbits, mischievous gossips, her feisty friends and the handsome prince.
Rapunzel runs from Friday 21 to Monday 24 December with matinee and evening performances:
