International courses set to benefit region’s businesses

20 Feb 2007 13:06:01

Exclusive training courses to gain internationally-recognised management qualifications are now being offered by the University of Bedfordshire’s business centre, the Knowledge Hub.

The courses cover a range of topics to help nurture new managers, train and promote existing managers to more senior levels, or to boost sales skills.

This includes PRINCE II – an accredited course for business professionals in project management. The cost for the five-day course includes membership fees, all manuals, yearly subscription and both the foundation and practitioner exam.

The courses are headed by Project Manager, John Sentinella, who brings a wealth of business experience from both public and private sector organisations, at middle and senior management levels.

He said: “We’ve had a hugely positive response to this new programme which shows there is a need for such courses to be delivered locally. In particular, there has been a great deal of interest in the PRINCE II Project Management course which more and more companies are adopting and integrating into their working practices.”

Also on offer is an Institute of Sales and Marketing Management (ISMM) qualification. Employees can complete level three to gain a better understanding of sales and management, achieving a certificate on completion. Senior sales people can complete a level five diploma in sales and marketing management.

The third course is the EBCL - European Business Competence Licence. This international qualification, now available in the UK, offers business competences that are recognised around the globe. Major companies such as Xerox and Siemens have integrated the course into their staff development programmes.

The course is aimed at individuals looking to start a business or manage and lead a business unit in a larger organisation. It is also aimed at those entering the business world for the first time and those who need to manage financial aspects of a project.

All specialist training from the Knowledge Hub is delivered at the Putteridge Bury Management Centre, although firms can request training at their own premises.

The aim is to address key business requirements with recognised qualifications. A range of subject areas are covered such as, planning change in decision-making; teambuilding and leadership; budget and time management; and self-development and continuous improvement in career management.

The Knowledge Hub also offers business consultancy and training, tailored to suit each organisation’s needs.

Delegates who register on any of the accredited courses offered through the Knowledge Hub will receive free membership of the Knowledge Network – a monthly networking event for the region’s business professionals. In addition, they will receive a reduced price when booking a Business Training Workshop; free appraisals to assess business and staff needs; and free subscription to the Knowledge Hub’s monthly Ezine.
