Tickets for a fundraising ball to help raise money for student bursaries have sold out before going on sale publicly.
All 200 places for the first University of Bedfordshire’s Grand Summer Ball have been snapped up following an unprecedented response from local businesses.
The Ball, which takes place on Saturday 9 June at the Putteridge Bury campus, will raise money for bursaries to support students who are in financial need.
Naomi Wynter-Vincent who heads up the University’s Development and Alumni Office, said: “It just shows how much goodwill there is for the University within the county and how word of mouth continues to be very powerful.
“It’s set to be a great night with all proceeds going to our student bursary fund. Many students from less well-off backgrounds are forced to leave university because they can’t afford to continue their education. We hope to give them the support they need to complete their degrees. The money raised really will change lives.”
The night will feature a four course meal with music from jazz band, Chapter Eight and Symphonia Academica, the University’s resident orchestra.
