Dozens of employers have attended a special preview of the University of Bedfordshire’s annual Media, Art and Design show, to see the work of future designers, artist and film makers.
More than 200 final year students from the School of Media, Art and Design showcased their work across three floors of the Park Square campus in Luton last Friday (15 June), where they were also joined by academic staff, family and friends.

Companies
from across the region and London
were invited to view the exhibits which included photography, fine art, graphic
design, fashion, film and interior architecture and design.
Paul Jolly, Executive Producer of 33 Records, said: “Both I and creative industry colleagues were hugely impressed. The creativity and originality shows the exceptional calibre of students coming out of this university.”

Opening
the show was the University
of Bedfordshire’s
Vice Chancellor, Professor Les Ebdon.
He
said: “The work produced by the students is of the highest standard and I am
proud to open this exhibition to so many visitors.
Such quality work reaffirms our reputation as one of the best in the country, as shown in the Guardian newspaper’s most recent league table, which placed us third in the country for Media courses.”

One of
the exhibitors was Graphic Design student, Ausra Kupliauskaite (photo left). Ausra recently
landed a job as the main designer on a leading Lithuanian daily newspaper after
redesigning the paper for her final year major project.
Two other students, Kinga Koren (photo right) and Inese
Baune, also showcased their award-winning graphic design work.

In recent days, Kinga won third prize and Inese received a certificate of recommendation in the annual Penguin Design Award.
The
event opens to the public on Thursday 21 June until Saturday 23 June from 10am
to 5pm each day.
