Companies across the region are being encouraged to get creative and generate exciting ideas at a new centre at the University of Bedfordshire which launches next week.
The Centre for Business Creativity has been developed by the University’s Business School and is now ready to launch an innovative programme for 2007/2008, to be available on a membership basis.
The Centre will provide a forum for like-minded businesses that are excited by the prospect of generating ideas and insights to stimulate major shifts in performance.
Potential members will be open to sharing thoughts and experiences with each other and pursuing opportunities to develop new concepts.
Sue Whittaker, Project Manager at the University, explained: “We are looking to identify a group of innovative and dynamic companies and organisations as founder members for the Centre. We will be hosting an event to examine some of the latest thinking on creativity, to give businesses the opportunity to speak to University experts, and to introduce the concept of the Centre for Business Creativity.”
The launch takes place at the Putteridge Bury campus on 19 March 2007. The evening will commence at 5.30pm with light refreshments, an introduction from the Vice Chancellor, Professor Les Ebdon, followed by a keynote presentation on ‘Systematic Creative Problem Solving in a Business Setting’ by David Hall, Chief Executive of HFL Ltd.
Also on the agenda is the core proposition of the Centre for Business Creativity with discussion and networking opportunities.
Sue added: “I think companies will enjoy the event on its own merits, whether or not they subscribe to the Centre afterwards. There is absolutely no obligation to join but it will be a wonderful opportunity to explore the importance of companies developing new ideas to remain competitive.”
