Students from the University of Bedfordshire have given their institution the thumbs up in the latest National Student Survey, by placing the University 28th in the country.

Students were asked to rank their institutions on 21 different subject areas. The University scored an average of 3.9 out of 5, to climb into the top 25 per cent of all institutions for student satisfaction.

Results showed Bedfordshire students ranked Journalism fifth in the country, Law seventh, Business 15th and Marketing 16th, when asked about their overall satisfaction on their course.

The University has also entered the top 50 in the country for three key assessment areas, including:

  • Personal Development – now 19th in the country
  • Assessment and Feedback – now 31st in the country
  • Learning Resources – now 46th in the country

Vice Chancellor, Professor Les Ebdon, said: “This is another boost for the University which has been dramatically rising up all the league tables this year, making our first anniversary as the University of Bedfordshire a great success.

“It’s wonderful news our students are feeling the positive effects of the new institution and we are pleased they are very satisfied. But we will continue to improve support and facilities to further enhance the student experience at the University, including completing a £60m investment to provide state-of-the-art resources across the institution.”

The results of the National Student Survey are used to help future students choose courses that best suit their needs and interests, and is used by national newspapers when compiling university league tables.
