It's all in the Game at the University

The University of Bedfordshire has embraced the technological revolution following the adoption of the world’s first distance learning computer games courses run by Train2Game.

Train2Game offers the course so that those without university qualifications can access a games development career.

The company’s marketing director, Mike Head, said: “Because a student hasn’t done too well at school or hasn’t gone to college, it shouldn’t stop them breaking into something they really want to do and could potentially be very good at, such as games development.”

Students on the BSc Computer Games Development course starting this September can look forward to the addition of ‘Games Developer’ and ‘Games Designer’ content to their degree course.

The University’s Head of Computer Science, Professor Carsten Maple, has welcomed the adoption of the world’s first computer games distance learning course.

Professor Maple said: “Train2Game materials, which are written by games industry professionals, will help to ensure that our students learn industry-relevant skills and are exposed to industry-relevant tools.”
