Some 100 new students from the Middle East are expected to join the University of Bedfordshire this autumn.

The University has already enjoyed huge success in attracting international students at undergraduate, postgraduate and research level from countries like India and China.

Now, it is attracting students from the Middle East following visits by the international team to Dubai and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Deputy Vice Chancellor (External Relations) Ashraf Jawaid said: “This is very exciting news for the University and shows that our reputation as an institution which offers excellent courses and welcomes all backgrounds and cultures is spreading far and wide.”

The total number of international students taught at the University’s UK campuses has more than doubled – leaping from more than 1500 in 2008 to nearly 3400 this year.

The total number of international students taught both in the UK and at partner institutions overseas has soared from almost 3000 to 5300.

The University’s international recruitment team recently scooped the highly-prestigious Times Higher Education Leadership and Management award for outstanding international recruitment.
