An event designed to show local businesses how innovation can help them survive and even flourish during difficult economic times is set to take place at the University of Bedfordshire.

President of the British Chamber of Commerce Dr Neville Reyner, CBE DL, will be speaking to local businesses at a special Knowledge Network evening on 17 February – the first network event of the year.

The evening will focus on sending a positive message to local companies about how they can tackle the challenges of the coming economic period with optimism. Dr Reyner’s keynote speech on the ‘recession and the importance of innovation in recovery’ will further examine how new ideas can be utilised to help counter the current economic slow-down. This will be followed by a discussion led by the University’s Professor of Enterprise, Alan Barrell.

‘Innovation: the key to beating the credit crunch’ will take place at the University’s Putteridge Bury Conference Centre from 5.30pm.

The Knowledge Network provides businesses in the region with access to networking events, lectures and discounted training and is part of the University’s Knowledge Hub, which provides a wide range of business services to companies of all sizes.
