The University of Bedfordshire is extending the hand of friendship to its Russian comrades.
The St Petersburg State University of Film and Television and the University are exploring the possibility of collaborating together to develop further academic co-operation.
This would potentially enable Russian students to come over to England and progress to programmes of study at the University, in particular the Faculty of Creative Arts, Technologies and Science (CATS).
The academic areas discussed so far include creative technologies and mobile computing, media production and television, art and design, and journalism.
As well as pursuing closer academic links, the institutions are also exploring the possibility of developing collaboration in student exchange, staff exchange and research.
The University’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Les Ebdon, was joined by his Russian counterpart, Professor Alexander Belousov, the Rector of St Petersburg State University of Film and Television, at the opening night of the Art and Design Degree Show.
Other Russian representatives were Professor Konstantin Glasman, Head of Video Systems Department, and Olga Molchanova for the visit to the CATS Faculty.
