The dragon boat racing team from the University of Bedfordshire are aiming to make a big splash at their next competition.
They are competing at the eighth spectacular Milton Keynes Dragon Boat Festival at Willen Lake this Sunday (28 June), organised by Gable Events and sponsored by easycopiers.
Dragon boat racing is an ancient Chinese tradition and the fastest growing water activity in Britain. Up to 16 people paddle each 40ft boat with a drummer at the front beating time and a helm at the tail steering a straight course.
Sixty crews are expected to battle it out over the 250m race course, watched by thousands of spectators at the superb Willen Lake.
A fabulous day is guaranteed with bank side entertainment, music, food and fun activities for everyone.
The University crew are looking to build on their 2008 success when they were victorious in the Bedford River Festival Dragon Boat competition.
