For the second year running, the annual Connexions Higher
Education Fair is coming to Bedfordshire.
The event, at University of Bedfordshire’s Bedford campus on 30 March, brings more than 80 universities and colleges from around the UK under one roof and gives young people the opportunity to find out about studying at degree level.
Last year, more than 2,000 pupils from schools and colleges across Beds descended on the University to listen to talks on a range of topics including subject areas and practical ways of financing a degree course; and to pick up prospectuses and other education information from the different institutions.
Lal Joshi, Head of Student Recruitment at the University, who is helping to organise the event said: “This is the biggest recruitment convention in the region and gives young people, teachers and parents a brilliant opportunity to speak in person to university representatives from across the country.
“Research shows that graduates can earn up to 25 per cent
more than people who don’t go into higher education, so it’s a very important
event for young people who are considering their future.
We can provide them with all the information they need about going to university such as entry requirements, academic standards and course information.”
The fair is supported by Bedfordshire and Luton Connexions Service which offers information and advice for young people about education, health, relationships, work and money.
Sheila Pembroke, Information, Curriculum and Communications Manager at Connexions added: “The Higher Education Fair gives students the opportunity to find out about the many different types of higher education courses available, and different methods of study to suit their existing commitments.”
