Entrepreneur of the Year Duncan Goose will speak to local businesses and budding entrepreneurs at the University of Bedfordshire’s Knowledge Network event in April.
The guest speaker will explore entrepreneurship and give his advice on how to position a company in large commodity markets.
Duncan
Goose formed the award-winning not-for-profit organisation Global Ethics
Limited, which raises funds for humanitarian projects in developing countries.
The
company launched bottled water brand One
and donates profits to fund powered water pumps called Playpumps. The system
brings clean drinking water to 1.1 billion people across Africa
and was the official water for both Live8
and Make Poverty History.
Gary
Kirby, Knowledge Network Manager, said: “We are particularly excited that
Duncan Goose will be speaking at the next Knowledge Network event because of
his vast experience and the quality of advice he will be able to offer. Ethical business has become such an important
topic in the last ten years, so his talk will attract a great deal of interest.”
The
University’s Knowledge Network offers business-led events throughout the year
designed to encourage business growth in the region and support the local
economy. The events also provide an excellent opportunity for
Bedfordshire-based businesses to meet and network.
The
event will take place on 8 April at the University’s Putteridge Bury Conference
Centre from 6pm.
