There has been a huge demand for tickets for one of the county's most prestigious social occasions - the Bedfordshire Grand Summer Ball.
All available places for the event, to be held on June 13 in the grounds of Putteridge Bury, Luton, in a magnificent marquee sponsored by London Luton Airport, have now been sold.
The Bedfordshire Grand Summer Ball, arranged by the University of Bedfordshire, aims to raise money for the University's Scholarship and Bursaries Fund. This is for students in the area who would otherwise not be able to afford to attend University.
Guests at the black-tie event will be treated to a champagne cocktail reception on the Putteridge Bury terrace, to the accompaniment of music from an orchestra, followed by a very special four-course dinner designed by celebrity chef Jean Christophe Novelli and dancing to the Chapter 8 band.
One of the money-raising features of the evening will be a Silent Auction. Lots include prizes from Luton Hoo Hotel, Center Parcs and Woburn Safari Park.
Vice Chancellor, Professor Les Ebdon, for University of Bedfordshire, comments: “This is the second time the University has organised a prestigious summer ball at its Putteridge Bury campus. The first, in 2007, was a resounding success and we plan for this to be a bi-annual event.”
