Russian-born Maria Kukhareva is helping to put others in the picture by promoting the value of family life.
Maria is a full-time member of staff at the University who works for the Partnerships Office. Her photographic exhibition, called ‘Mothers and daughters, fathers and sons’, is running at the Luton Central Library until 8 June.

The underlying theme is the bond between female or male family members, as well as the transition between generations.
For this project, she has photographed generations of men and women from Luton and around Bedfordshire.
Maria, who moved to England eight years ago, said: “The exhibition looks at family and what it gives us, in terms of support, love and a place to come back to.
“Being an only child, I have always yearned for siblings and for a larger family in general.”
The online version of the exhibition can be viewed at www.mcordwell.blogspot.com
