Sporty types at the University's Bedford campus can get all the fun of the fair this week.

The annual sports fair at Polhill is tomorrow (Tuesday) morning from 9.30am-1pm and aims to give students a head-start to a career in sport.

It is aimed at year two and three students from the School of PE and Sports Studies as well as those studying Sport and Exercise Science. First year students can also attend.

Based in the University Theatre, there will be internal and external speakers including Bedford Borough Council’s Community Sport Development Officer, Helen Mayhew, representatives from our Armed Forces and Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

There is also an exhibition where students can gain careers information by networking with sports companies as well as details on volunteering to gain some much-needed experience.

Exhibitors include The Army, the Beds FA, Beds Police, Premier Sport, the RAF, Sport Support, Sports Xtra, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Team Beds and Luton and there is also a stand on Routes into Teaching.

Careers adviser Christine Smith said: “The sports fair is for the benefit of our students, whether they’re preparing for graduate employment or just want to boost their CV while they’re studying here.”
