Bedford will be extra colourful next week as it’s graduation time at the University of Bedfordshire.
The graduation ceremonies for the University’s Bedford campus are taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday (27-28 October) at the Bedford Corn Exchange in St Paul’s Square.
Students are mainly drawn from the Faculty of Education and Sport, although all four faculties will be represented at one of the ceremonies.
The University’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Les Ebdon CBE, said: “Our students have worked incredibly hard to get this far and I congratulate each and every one of them for remaining focused and dedicated throughout.
“I wish them every success for the future whether they have entered the world of work or gone on to postgraduate study.”
Five honorary degrees are also being awarded over the two days. They are going to Professor Celia Brackenridge (Director of Centre for Youth Sport and Athlete Welfare, Brunel University), Government education consultant Sir Jim Rose CBE, Professor Miriam David (Institute of Education, University of London), Professor Greg Whyte (Research Institute for Sport and Exercise, Liverpool John Moores University) and former Grantham College Principal and Chief Executive Malcolm Saville.
